When to go?
The best time for a visit to Bunaken is in the dry season, from May up until October. In these months there is little rain and no storm. It can get quite hot though! For both snorkelling and diving the weather conditions are fine all year round. During the rainy season a visit to Bunaken is still worth the effort. It then is a little less hot and you can expect a daily shower, mostly at the end of the afternoon.
Please bear in mind that there is a very small chance of the crossing from Manado to Bunaken being quite dangerous during the rainy season’s rough conditions and the local boars are not able to make the crossing.
